e-Assessment, the use of technology to assess skills, knowledge, understanding and competency is underpinning a revolution is the use of ICT in the class room and the workplace. Day One of the e-Assessment Question 2010 will focus on the issues underpinning the growth of e-Assessment

  • innovative technology,
  • the need for validity and reliability,
  • the link to assessment for learning programmes,
  • the acceptance of stakeholders,
  • the impact on the learner, teacher, employer,
  • to the design and implementation of robust and fit for purpose qualifications & formative assessments;

in this the age of the internet and to a generation raised since the birth of the computer, the web, games, social networking and global telecommunications.
 

Day Two, Thurs. 18h March 2010 –
Quality, Transparency and Accountability in e-Assessment

All institutions are facing a challenge of ensuring that computer based and computer assisted assessments are fit for purpose and meet the expectations of all stakeholders.

Key to this issue are the challenges of:

    - quality

    - transparency and

    - accountability

The second day of the 2010 conference discusses these issues and asks the questions about the regulations and public and the professional acceptance of these new tools techniques and technologies, their control, management and usage.
