About the Conference and Exhibition

e-Assessment, the use of computer based assessment, is increasingly becoming part of the mainstream in the classroom and the workplace.

This year we take Assessment for Learning as our focus and look at how the technology, tools and techniques of e-Assessment and Computer Based Testing can support the Formative and Summative Assessment processes and help develop the Assessment for Learning concepts.

Learners achieve most when

    · they understand clearly what they are trying to learn, and what is expected of them

    · they are given feedback about the quality of their work and what they can do to make it better

    · they are given advice about how to go about making improvements

    · they are fully involved in deciding what needs to be done next, and who can give them help if they need it

Technology is ideally suited to supporting these ambitions and making assessment and the personal learning agenda viable.

However, technology offers both benefits and challenges for those using, or considering using, ICT to address these ideas. e-Assessment offers exciting and innovative approaches to otherwise costly, and/or inflexible assessment of learners, students or employees.

The challenge for those developing, selecting and implementing e-Assessment solutions is to balance the desire for innovation and development with the need to deliver the benefits

Do you want to find out about
e-Assessment? or want to see the latest developments?

How robust, valid and reliable are e-Assessment solutions?

Are you concerned about the risks and costs - how about the impact on learners, teachers and administrators?

e-Assessment technologies?

How does e-Assessment support learning?

‘The role and importance of technology in assessing and supporting learners in the classroom and the workplace’ - is a special eAA (e-Assessment Association) lead session on Day One (pm) which will conclude with the 2011 AGM of the e-Assessment Association

This the ninth conference, as with the first eight annual e-Assessment Question events, was a broad based international conference and exhibition. The conference provides an excellent conference to hear and see practical guidance and advice about e-Assessment and computer based testing and assessment systems. We are proud that over its long history the event has played a significant role in:

  1. raising the awareness of the importance of e-Assessment,
  2. bringing the major players together at one event for an exchange of ideas and to review lessons learnt and opportunities taken and
  3. providing a forum for developing the debate on the selection and use of e-Assessment.
